French for "Eggplant"!
aubergine (noun)
- another term for eggplant.
- a dark purple color like that of eggplant.

(Many of these are flowers, by the way. Or in the case of aubergine, a vegetable. Or is eggplant a fruit?)
To be fair, purple and violet are technically not the same—it's apparently a big misconception among common folk. In fact, many of the "flower" colors are technically some shade of violet. (This information courtesy of Wikipedia.)
Okay, whatever you wanna call it. But I'm just a simple graphic designer from the country, who views the world strictly in terms of black & white. And purple...
